Another area I feel we have been boxed in is Tourism. Imagine driving the Parks Highway through Wasilla,
how many places can you picture that would draw tourists in to stop in Wasilla and spend some time and money.
We need to open up some new ideas.
Cannabis sales is one with peripheral residuals.
Saving the Clock Tower is vital for Wasilla's Downtown Tourism District.
For the past seventeen years, the City has considered constructing a memorial to Chief Wasilla at Wasilla's Lake Park.
As Mayor, I would support a monument to Chief Wasilla, including his Wife and Son as pictured in 1906.
This memorial will solidify our heritage in celebration of Wasilla's 100 year Centennial.
Early this year I had the opportunity to work on The 557 Steam Locomotive. Being rebuilt by Engine 557 Restoration Company right here in Wasilla.
Future plan includes Station with Wasilla to Palmer runs.
A Dale Nichols Museum would be an attribute for the City of Wasilla. I knew Dale Nichols (1904 to 1995), world famous artist, who lived at Wasilla Senior Housing from 1984 to 1989.
His art is displayed in Metropolitan Museum of Art New York and many other Museums and Galleries.
Google Dale Nichols Artist Paintings and discover his art.
And of course my Wasilla Fairgrounds vision.
